At POP COLOR SPLAT!, we believe that art is about the experience, the movement, and the pure joy of creating! We design our camps, workshops, and events around the idea that everyone is an artist, and if you’re making art, you’re doing it right.
What We Prioritize:

We want art to be an active experience, not just a passive one. Whether artists are throwing paint, experimenting with unconventional tools, or collaborating on a mural, our programs are designed to be immersive, high-energy, and full of exploration.
Inspired by Process Art and Action Painting
Our approach is rooted in process art, action art, and gestural abstraction, all of which celebrate movement, spontaneity, and the journey and joy of creating!
Finding the Creative Flow
Getting lost in the act of making art—what’s often called the "flow" state—feels amazing. We create experiences that allow artists to tap into that state, where creativity flows freely, confidence builds, and stress melts away.
Art as an Outlet
Art is a powerful form of expression. Whether it’s throwing paint, experimenting with color, or exploring new textures, we give kids (and adults!) the space to express themselves, build confidence, and experience the joy of uninhibited creativity.
Hello, I’m Jen Paulin
Jen is an experienced elementary school art teacher who loves fostering creativity in young artists. She is passionate about process-focused art and crafting opportunities that encourage freedom, exploration, and hands-on experimentation.
Jen’s superpower is bringing people together! She has always found joy in being part of a community—jumping in, lending a hand, and taking the lead to create meaningful and fun experiences for everyone. With a degree in Art History and a lifelong passion for designing and creating engaging and fun experiences for kids and adults, Jen’s priority is to help other people find their creativity and expression through art.
POP COLOR SPLAT! is led by Jen, and fueled by a small team of artists, educators, and creative minds who bring expertise in pedagogy, curriculum design, and hands-on art experiences. Together, we test and refine projects to ensure that every experience is engaging, effective, and most importantly—fun!
How Pop Color Splat! Came to Life
The idea for POP COLOR SPLAT! started as an after work discussion in a back yard, when our founder, Jen, reflected on her classroom experience that day. She saw firsthand how much kids loved art when the focus was on play, discovery, and experimentation rather than making a “perfect" art piece. She wanted to create opportunities for this kind of messy, freeform art-making outside of the classroom—without the limits of structured lessons or rigid outcomes.
From brainstorming to sketches, she imagined a portable, flexible art setup that could bring the joy of unstructured creativity anywhere. The concept for the SplatterTent and other process-based art exploration was born, and from there, POP COLOR SPLAT! grew into a full-fledged experience, offering everything from summer art camps to action-packed creative events.
